Synopsis: This paper continues the work of NVCC Case Studies I with a study of 11 ALN courses in a variety of subjects. Conclusions from this set of case studies included:

  • ALN courses can support a wide variety of pedagogies and andragogies.
  • Programs serving a wide variety of students can use a variety of content delivery models to meet student needs.
  • Courses which use a tutorial design model can support large enrollments effectively.
  • Major causes of student withdrawal were reasons beyond the institution's control (work, family, health, other life changes).
