OL Is Strategic: Preliminary Report Findings 11/08

The Online Nation: Five Year Growth Trends in Online Learning report issued in November 2007 summarized findings related to questions about the nature and extent of online learning in U.S. higher education. A report currently in progress (November 2008) takes a closer look at the data used to prepare the Online Nation report, with a focus on finding more detailed answers to these two questions. The report examines three key variables – institution type, level of institutional engagement in online education, and the relationship between strategically important factors which determine institutional involvement in online education.

See below for a one-page summary of preliminary findings and more detailed findings as reported at last week's Sloan-C Conference.
